Tivoli Gardens Christmas Market

What a beautiful place. It's so unusual for me to see inner city amusement parks, but it seems like a lot of European cities have them. We're used to people driving to a huge park outside the city somewhere, with an enormously huge parking area, and shuttle busses that take you to the sprawling park. This "city park' shows what you can do in a small amount of space. It's right across from the train station. I didn't see a parking lot anywhere. Just the city. It was really lovely. Hope you like the pictures!

Occupy Copenhagen-- Really?

I saw this on my business trip, and I had to stop and take some pictures. The pictures aren't all that good, but I thought that the sentiment was there.

But-- Occupy Denmark? Really? Where everyone has free health care, free education? The Republicans would be pulling their hair out.  So- what's the message here?  "Where's the democracy?" I thought it was here, if anywhere at all. They had free coffee though.

I didn't stop to talk; I wanted to see the city and even, gasp- shop a little bit. ;-)

The Tivoli Gardens in the background. I went there later in the evening, and it was beautiful! WIll post some pictures from there soon.

Why continue blogging?

When we got home from out year in Hungary, I really wanted to continue blogging, but my husband pointed out that now I would be working, and really wouldn't have time to blog. It would take time away from our family time, and he would like the "End of the Road" Blog to stand by itself, as a travel blog from our time in Europe. SO, okay. But you know what? I MISSED blogging. And so, this is my SECRET blog. He will never have to know about it. And I'm not giving the blog address out. If you've found it by accident, WELCOME! I hope you enjoy it.  I hope you come back, and I really really hope you leave me comments. I love LOVE LOVE comments.

A Great Thing To Have Done

When we were living in Hungary last year and #1son was having a really REALLY hard day, I told him "Honey, this will be a great thing to have done. It's not always a great thing to be doing. And as trite as it sounded to me even at the time, he got it. And you know what? It was, and is, a great thing to have done. And that's what this is about-- all those things in life that seem like they're kicking your ass, and in fact they ARE. This blog doesn't deny them- it embraces them.

So-- first post of "A great thing to have done."
